Here Women Talk

You know I have to weigh in on today's show.  It was FANTASTIC!    Kudos to you John for bringing "Tom" on to share and give his point of view.  It was refreshing to listen to a guy who has been through the experiences and horrors of dating and being involved with women who were not honest about themselves.  It opened my eyes to see that it is not just women that go through experiences with guys being untruthful.

I do think that those of us who are single and have entered into half or more than half a hundred years old, our  ideas and thoughts change about what we want out of a relationship, or at least mine have.  We are very much past playing games.  We want the person to be honest, true and upright.  We want to see that person as they really are, no surprises.

I personally would rather the guy see the real me and make the decision if they want to pursue the relationship any further.    All 56 years of me with a few wrinkles and a few extra pounds.    Putting yourself out there as something you are not or as a much younger person (if you are doing the internet thing), along with other lies can only breed trouble and doom the relationship before it ever gets started.

With all that said, I have come to the conclusion that if "Tom" is still out there dating after what he has been through, then maybe I ought to give dating another chance and hope to find "the right guy."

Denise:
Cheer up Tom is a wreck! He's battered bruised and lookin' for love in all the wrong places or no places of consequence as he mentioned. He seemed very sincere in his wanting to find a woman with whom to have a relationship. Apparentlly he is even "too" nice - which isn't always an asset as it depends why he sacrifices himself to the extent of perhaps setting himself up to be chronically disappointed when a woman doesn't respond in a reciprocal manner - which may or may not be impossible. A little archair Freud for your enjoyment.

You're right however, that it is helpful to know that men struggle in the search to find a relationship in the same way women do. They don't "have it made" after all. It seems like Tom has been through marriage hell and dating unpleasantries and if he hasn't given up you shouldn't either. Go girl go!
Denise, in light of your comments about "Tom," thought you'd like to know he's agreed to enter the dating game again ... this time on HWT! With Gail's help, we've patched together a program ... check it out! Hope you'll share and play!
